How to Grant Meta Ad Account Access for Web/E-Commerce Clients

When you’re selling products online through e-commerce, it is important that you properly share your Meta account with your marketing partner so they have all the tools necessary to carry out your digital marketing plan. 

This step-by-step guide will show you which parts of your Meta account your marketing partner will need access to and how to grant access to them for web and e-commerce.

Prior to starting, you will need have the following things ready: 

  • Your digital marketing partner’s Meta business ID 
  • A Meta Business Suite for your business 

Step 1 

Go to business.facebook.com/. Log into the account you would like your digital marketing partner to access.

Step 2 

Click on the gear icon located in the bottom left corner to open the Settings.

Step 3

The "Accounts" section has several Meta Accounts your digital marketing partner will need access to, including: Pages, Ad Account, and Instagram (see arrows). Each account needs to be added individually. 

Let's get started! On the left-hand side, under "Accounts", click "Ad accounts".

Step 4

Click "Assign Partners".

Step 5

Select "Business ID".

Step 6

Enter your digital marketing partner’s business ID.

Step 7

Select "Manage campaigns" which will allow us to create and edit ads in your account.

Step 8

Click "Next" to finish up.

Step 9

Add us your digital marketing partner to your Page. On the left-hand side, under "Accounts", click "Pages".

Step 10

Click "Assign Partners". 

Step 11

Repeat the same steps to add your digital marketing partner’s business manager ID. Then, click "Create ads", then click "Next" to finish up.

Step 12

Let's add your Catalogue. Under "Data sources", click "Catalogues". 

Step 13

Click "Assign Partners."

Step 14

Assign partners by business ID, then enter your digital marketing partner’s business ID. Click "Create ads," then click "Next" to finish up.

Step 15

Let's add your Pixel. Under "Data sources," click "Pixels."

Step 16

Click "Assign Partners."

Step 17

Enter your digital marketing partner’s business ID. Click "Manage pixels". Then click "Next" to finish up.

Step 18

Repeat steps 3 - 8 for your Instagram accounts and Domains. You can find these items in the menu on the left-hand side.
